Monitor Resolution General Information

The monitor resolution of a digital computer device (e.g. computer LCD display) is the number of horisontal and vertical pixels that can be displayed. The term applies to fixed-pixel-array monitors such as LCDs (liquid crystal displays), PDPs (plasma display panels) and OLED (Organic light-emitting diode) and other technologies and is the physical number of rows and columns of distinct pixels of the display (for example: 1920 X 1080 pixels is a HDTV 1080 format).
